At Micro City, we are committed to providing exceptional rental experiences for our clients. We believe that everyone deserves a comfortable and safe home, and we are here to help make that happen.
Our Unique Design
Welcome to Micro City. We are currently in the first phase of construction. These are long-term rentals with a year's lease, background checks, and are non-smoking. Each studio will rent for $1,200 and is 520 square feet with a 360 square foot main living area and a 160 square foot bathroom. We include a full-size refrigerator, stove, washer, and dryer. (No quarters required) We designed Micro City from the ground up to meet and exceed all local, county, and state building codes. We incorporated many design aspects to be ADA friendly including our outlets being 24" from the floor, light switches being 48" from the floor, wheelchair turning radius greater than 60", blocking for grab bars in the bathrooms, ramped sidewalks that are 4' wide, and two parking spaces per studio.
Modern Technologies
Micro City uses many modern technologies including a ductless H.V.A.C., bathroom heater, and subscription free doorbell camera. All of these are analogue controlled but are also WIFI compatible and are 100% controlled by the tenants. Each studio has a 50 AMP RV charging receptacle that can charge an RV, EV, or hybrid vehicle. We use a commercial grade bathroom exhaust fan that is 310 CFMs, the range hood above the stove is vented outside, the ceiling fan is 60" and remote controlled. We have all LED lighting, two large concrete patios, and an open concept floor plan. We use a 6' sliding glass door, two sun tunnels, three hopper windows, and four 4'X4' egress windows.
About The Property and Owner
Micro City has nine lots located on 1.14 acres by Lily Lake. Work is continuing on the beautification of the property like removing invasive species, cutting down brush, and removing debris. Upon completion the property will be leveled, have decorative grasses, and river rock landscaping. Micro City is a one-person LLC locally owned, designed, and operated by Scott Schoof. I am a graduate of Indiana University with three degrees and seven certifications. I have worked in management for over 20 years, I was a machinist by trade, and I interned in engineering for over three years. Micro City has been 100% self and bank funded for the entire construction process. We use local contractors from La Porte, Union Mills, and Rolling Prairie. Many of these contractors have been in business for decades. Some of them are second and third generation family owned small businesses.
